sound that has full-room ambience similar to that produced by a high-priced
surround sound system." -Multimedia World, May 1994
"If you want the hottest 3D audio imaging system, this is it. Only pricey
high-end THX or Dolby components provide as much clarity and quality as this
unit does." -Game Players-Nintendo/Sega, September 1994
"New audio technology redefines sound as we know it... This system is an
improvement over stereo as stereo was over mono!"
-Electronic Gaming Monthly, May 1994

enhancement for all formats? Here it is." -Axcess magazine, July 1994
"The Vivid 3D can make a normal two speaker set-up sound like one of those
home theater audio systems with multiple speakers!"
-Game Informer, July/August, 1994
"97/100! The Vivid 3D is one of the best applications of an emerging
technology that I have ever seen. Old games took on new life."
-Computer Game Review, August 1994
"NuReality's Vivid 3D sound system packs a big bang in a small box...
Treble sounds clearer, bass fuller, and audio effects -- even monophonic
effects -- more realistic." -Computer Shopper, September 1994

The goal of every sound technology is to accurately reproduce an
original performance and give the listener the feeling of "being there."
This goal led to the development of stereo technology almost 60 years ago.
This goal also inspired the creation of the Sound Retrieval System(R) (SRS)
technology, a unique audio technology that adds a new dimension of realism
to traditional stereo processing. After millions of research dollars and
over ten years of development, audio scientist Arnold Klayman completed the
SRS technology at Hughes Aircraft Corporation. Since 1988, this innovative
technology has been awarded four international patents with over 240 claims
in 11 countries, and has been licensed by companies such as Sony
Corporation, RCA and Nakamichi.
Now through NuReality, the power of SRS 3D sound technology can be
conveniently and inexpensively brought into your home with the award-winning
family of Vivid 3D(tm) sound enhancement products.
THE PRINCIPLE OF 3D SOUND
Consider the feeling of a live performance. This feeling of being
immersed in sound comes from a combination of "direct" and "indirect" sound
information. Indirect sound waves convey subtle ambience information such
as the size of a room and the location of various sounds to our ears.
Microphones, which are much less complex than the human hearing system, are
simply incapable of properly registering this indirect sound information.
By restoring the proper balance of direct and indirect sound information,
SRS processing recreates the "live" feeling of the original performance.
SRS technology also eliminates the "sweet spot" associated with traditional
stereo systems. This means that speakers disappear as point sources of
audio information and you hear 3D sound from any location in a room.
Using these principles, SRS produces realistic three dimensional sound
from only two speakers. In addition, SRS processing further enhances
surround sound technologies, such as Dolby Pro Logic(R), and encoded sound
material, such as QSound.
Stereo processing creates flat, "two dimensional" sound, whereas SRS
processing fills an entire room with lifelike, "three dimensional" sound.
VIDEO GAMES, MULTIMEDIA COMPUTERS, PORTABLE CD PLAYERS AND HOME STEREO
SYSTEMS. Bring them all to a new level in aural excitement. Simply plug in
Vivid 3D products and listen to your audio take on a whole new dimension.
With NuReality's complete family of Vivid 3D systems, it couldn't be
simpler.
